Education
Master of Science in Education in Communication Disorders from The College of Saint Rose.

Profile
Lisa is a Speech-Language Pathologist who has been employed at Whispering Pines Preschool for ten years. She also has a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from American Speech Language Hearing Association and holds a NYS Teaching Certificate as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped. Lisa obtained her Bachelors degree at Elmira College in Elmira NY and Masters Degree from the College of Saint Rose in Albany NY and obtained licensure as an SLP in December 1996. Furthermore, Lisa is the Cobleskill site supervisor and was previously active in starting the Parent Advisory Board on the Cobleskill site. She enjoys working in a variety of therapy settings including toddler groups, 3-5 integrated classrooms, local daycares, Headstart programs and within the home environment working with families through the Early Intervention Program. Lisa enjoys working with the diverse populations of children with communication disorders and especially enjoys working with children with Asperger´┐Żs Syndrome. She has been working on a social skills curriculum for this population. She also attends a yearly supervisory conference at the College of Saint Rose in order to prepare for the student teachers that have been placed with her at Whispering Pines Preschool. In addition she has attended a variety of trainings/conferences including oral motor, feeding and oral sensory motor feeding approaches, phonological approaches and verbal dyspraxia, Aspergers Syndrome and introductory workshops in teaching verbal behavior to children with autism, sensory integration, incorporation of music and language into the classroom and facilitating pre-literacy skills and natural environment training.
