| Delanson Parent Advisory Board Minutes 12/02/08 Parents Present: Elizabeth DeMarco, Mary Gallagher, Michelle Haverly Staff Present: Lisa Edmunds, Jane McLean Discussion items: · Communication – The parents continue to be pleased with the current notebooks and with the level of communication from the staff. Michelle especially likes the sheet that comes home everyday. Mary mentioned that all of the “special days” seem to be on Tuesday and Thursdays, and asked if some could be on Mondays or Fridays in the future. · Halloween/Thanksgiving – The parents reported that the holidays were really great! They loved the Halloween decorations, and the 4 year old Thanksgiving celebration was nice. · Ornament party – Scheduled for Saturday December 6th from 10am - noon. Group members completed each craft so the children could have a model to look at. Planned the specifics of the party out in further detail. The parents will come in a little early to help get things set up. · Swap Party – Went well – Hopefully, we can have more people participate next time. · Parking Lot – The parents reported that things have gotten a little better, and it is easier to get in and out in the afternoon. · Directory – Handed out copies of the directory for the 3 and 4 year old classrooms. Next PAB meeting scheduled for Tuesday February 3rd, 2009 @ 6:30pm See you then! |

| Amsterdam Parent Advisory Board Minutes 11/12/08 Parents Present: Lisa Laspata, Kathleen Lewis, Sue and Greg Matthews, Lauri Nawrot, Monica Turley Staff Present: Jennifer Burek, Lisa Edmunds, Rachel Iorio, Liza Sowle Discussion Items: • Communication- parents are pleased with how things are going. They really appreciate it when staff write in the notebooks. They use the comments as conversation starters with their children, and to communicate when something big happens. They mentioned that the front cover often falls off. Board members brainstormed different solutions, such as putting the notebooks in plastic binders. Liza will talk to Sue D. about sending home directions to parents to assist with accessing the website, as well as a possible site map. We will also send home a list of teacher and therapist names so parents can communicate by e-mail. For example, Lisa Edmunds is ledmunds@wppkids.com. • Parents are interested in receiving student directories for their children’s classrooms. Erica will be sending this home soon. • Holiday events – passed around a sign up sheet for parents to help with upcoming events. Many parents were interested in helping set up the “Winter Wonderland”. We will also be setting up a date for an after school holiday/winter craft activity, possibly on a Friday around 4pm.
