| Delanson Parent Advisory Board Minutes Parents Present: Brandy F., Michelle H., Mary G, Liz D. Staff Present: Lisa Edmunds, Jane McLean, Lisa Pierce, Jennifer Hahn 1) Parent – Staff communication – everything continues to be going well at this time. 2) Holiday Ornament Making Party – the parents reported that the party went really well, and that their children all enjoyed the activities. 3) Spring Fling/Swap Party – scheduled for Friday May 21st. We will be planning this event in more detail at our next meeting. 4) Fundraiser for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society – Liz will be participating in a marathon on June 6th in San Diego to benefit this cause. Scheduled a WPP fundraiser walk at the Delanson site on Friday April 16th to help Liz raise funds. We will be having a planning meeting in the Delanson Motor Room on Monday March 22nd @ 9am – everyone is welcome to attend! Liz will be getting us more information regarding an upcoming Spaghetti dinner as well. 5) Graduation – discussed possible entertainers for this year’s festivities. 6) Tee-shirts – the parents are interested in being able to purchase WPP logo shirts for adults and children. | Cobleskill Parent Advisory Board Minutes Parents Present: Jay and Christy D., Alicia and Ryan L. Staff Present: Lisa E., Sue C. Discussion Items: • Communication – parents continue to be pleased with the level of communication between home and school. • Holiday events – parents thought the Thanksgiving Lunch went well, and reported it was easier to walk around than last year, but also reported that they missed not being able to see everyone all together. Jay brought up the possibility of having students at SUNY Cobleskill assist us with catering a meal sometime in the future (if staff were interested). • Review – we will be sending out an informational letter to parents about the online Facebook group for the Cobleskill Whispering Pines families that Jay had set up last year. Jay will be checking on a date to have the Masons assist us with a Child ID program again this Spring. • Ideas – discussed purchasing shirts with the Whispering Pines logo – a suggestion was made to use it as a fundraising event, with the proceeds going to buy plants and materials needed for our Garden Party, tentatively scheduled for June 5th, 2010. We will also be letting parents know about the newly formed Lending Library (books) in the office. • Presentations – discussed having Amy Frank be our guest lecturer at our next meeting to talk about parenting/behavioral issues. We will be opening this meeting up to all of the parents. Also talked about having a presentation on children transitioning from Preschool to Kindergarten. | Amsterdam Parent Advisory Board Minutes 11/18/09 Parents Present: Gaudy S., Linda S. Staff Present: Jennifer B., Lisa E., Liza S., Nancy D. Discussion Items: • Introductions – discussed what the PAB had done in previous years, both on this site and the other Whispering Pines Preschool sites. • Communication- parents are pleased with how things are going so far this year. The notebooks are in much better shape now that we have the plastic covers on them. Mentioned our website: www.wppkids.com, as well as how to e-mail staff: first letter of first name, and then last name. For example, Lisa Edmunds is ledmunds@wppkids.com. • Upcoming events – passed around a sign up sheet for parents to help staff with setting up the “Winter Wonderland”. We also discussed setting up a date for an after school holiday/winter craft activity. Also talked about possibly having a Winter Fun Day, and a Family Motor Night here at the Preschool. Nancy brought up the idea of having monthly enrichment classes as well, such as art activities and Handwriting Without Tears. Next meeting Wednesday January 27th, 2010 @ 4:00 – See you there! |
